It only takes one

IMG_0076Last night, as I was settling into my evening, curled up on the couch with my sweet pup next to me, I turned on the evening news.  It was 25 minutes of mostly bad news. However the very last story grabbed my attention. And personally, I am thrilled that it was featured on the national news!

Just this past April, in Houston at a Chick-fil-A, just one person started a wave of goodness. This one person pulled up to the window to pay for their meal and made the choice to pay for the person behind them. The next car pulled up and when they learned their meal had already been paid for, they made the choice to pay for the car behind them. This continued for 67 cars, that’s right 67 cars! And while it may not seem like a big deal, I’m betting that one person made more than one person’s day. Such a simple act, yet the impact I’m sure was greater than this person could even imagine.

So what’s going on with you today? What if you made the choice to open a door for someone, let someone merge in front of you in traffic? Or even pay for someone’s meal? Why don’t you just think about it? You never know you might start a wave of goodness yourself.  Why don’t we all seek out an opportunity to provide one small act of kindness over the next week? Are you in?
